Vanessa Hofman

Vanessa Hofman received her JD from UC Davis School of Law, where she served as an editor on the UC Davis Journal of International Law & Policy, and as research assistant for former Special Rapporteur in the field of cultural rights, Karima Bennoune. Vanessa accompanied Special Rapporteur Bennoune to the 74th United Nations General Assembly as she presented her annual report and attended side meetings with civil society organizations. Vanessa spent her third year of law school representing a formerly incarcerated person in their Section 1983 civil rights claim under the supervision of an attorney, as part of the UC Davis School of Law Civil Rights Clinic. Vanessa also completed an internship at CJA during her second year of law school, working on both litigation and transitional justice projects. After graduating from the University of Minnesota with a BA in political science and Arabic, Vanessa spent a year in Palestine, working at Pioneers Baccalaureate School in Nablus.
