Hannah James

Hannah James (she/her/hers), Legal Fellow, is a U.S. lawyer based in Washington, D.C. and a graduate of Harvard Law School. Prior to joining CJA, Hannah served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Liam P. Hardy of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. During law school, Hannah worked with Greater Boston Legal Services to provide direct representation services to asylum seekers. She was also a student attorney in the International Human Rights Clinic for one academic year. Her work in the clinic focused on corporate accountability for violations of human rights and individual accountability for crimes against humanity.

Prior to attending law school, Hannah worked as a paralegal at the U.S. Department of Justice supporting criminal prosecutions for securities and financial fraud. Hannah received her B.A. from the University of Southern California. She is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia.
