CJA is pioneering an approach to transitional justice, for societies emerging from periods of conflict or repression, that empowers survivor communities and local practitioners to prosecute atrocity criminals in the countries where these crimes were committed, or to lay the groundwork for future accountability. CJA designs and develops creative, strategic, and nimble initiatives in partnership with local practitioners – prosecutors, investigators, and victim advocates – to assist them in ensuring that international justice obligations are fulfilled so that those crimes do not recur.
