Cole Newcomb (He/Him/His), Legal Fellow, graduated with a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. During law school, Cole worked in Pakistan with the AGHS Legal Aid Cell, which represents children, women, and underrepresented religious groups. He also previously interned with CJA and with the Legal Resources Centre’s Land Programme in South Africa. Cole was a research assistant with the Immigrant Justice Lab and the Human Trafficking Clinic, where he was also a student attorney. His work in the clinic focused on forced labor, sexual exploitation, corporate accountability, and supply chain transparency. Cole served as an executive and contributing editor with the Michigan Journal of International Law.

Prior to law school, Cole worked in grantmaking—funding grassroots NGOs in the Asia-Pacific region and climate change mitigation projects.
