Colonel Abdi Aden Magan is a native of Somalia and a permanent resident of the United States.  He currently resides in Columbus, Ohio.

As a member of the same Marehan clan as Somali dictator Siad Barre, Magan served in the National Security Service (NSS), an intelligence agency comprised entirely of members of Siad Barre’s favored clan. The NSS became known as the “Somali Gestapo”: a secret police force that used torture and arbitrary detention to suppress dissidents and curtail civil liberties.  From approximately 1988 to 1990, Magan was Chief of the NSS Department of Investigations (National Level), stationed at NSS Headquarters in north Mogadishu.

Magan came to the United States in 2000 or shortly thereafter. He resides in Columbus, Ohio.
